Apple is coming speech recognition to the masses with its new iPhone 4S, equipped with an intelligent assistant named Siri. It’s a major differentiator for the new iPhone, setting it apart from its predecessors.
When Apple’s iPhone 4S reaches the hands of the smartphone fans on Oct. 14, the talk of the town in the tech world will be nothing but a voice-controlled artificial-intelligence system called Siri which the device carries along with its over 200 features.
Integration into the iPhone 4S’s iOS 5 software makes it convenient to use. You press and hold the iPhone 4S’s Home button, and it springs to life, sounding a short beep to signal for you to begin speaking. You can use it in this speakerphone mode, or if the iPhone 4S is turned on, you can simply raise the handset to your ear (a necessity when riding in a noisy vehicle) and the phone’s proximity sensor activates Siri, usuallyprompting you to begin speaking (inexplicably, sometimes it doesn’t respond).
New iPhone 5 will released in September of this year, or early in 2012.iPhone 5 clearly has a bigger screen at 3.7 inches instead of the standard 3.5 this will be supported by a stronger 1.2 GHz processor. Additionally, the iPhone 5 will also be adopting new materials confirming a nuclear design which is known to extend the battery life.
